The Los Angeles Lakers started to save their offseason with an interesting move on Wednesday night, landing Patrick Beverley in exchange for their starlet Talen Horton-Tucker. The veteran point guard used to be a big deal in Los Angeles during his time with the Clippers, and now it’s time to get back to the city and try to create something good with the Purple and Gold.

After being traded on Wednesday night, everybody has been talking about this move, with fans bringing up so many things that happened between Bev and the Lakers during his stay with the Clippers. Some went further and remembered that he’s been beefing with a teammate for years. He and Russell Westbrook haven’t had the best relationship in recent years, and many people were quick to point out how problematic this would be for the team.

Social media was flooded by comments trolling the Lakers for pairing Bev with Russ knowing there’s no love between them. Fans on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter just made fun of this, while others claimed that Westbrook is pretty much gone following this move.

Pat Bev and Russ….. this gonna be fun

More egos clashing. Fun! Fun! Jazz got the better end of that deal. Enjoy your rollercoaster ride next season Laker Fans!

While some say this could be a big problem for the Lakers, perhaps Bev is ready to show people that he’s a professional and won’t mind going side by side with Westbrook. This season will put a lot of pressure on Westbrook’s shoulders too, so perhaps a mentality switch is what he needs to be successful.

This upcoming season will be an entertaining one for the Lakers, as it could go a lot better than last year or be a complete disaster for the 17-time NBA champions. The addition of Beverley could help them a lot, but it’s still not enough to compete for a title.
