It is safe to say that Kevin Durant isn’t feeling a lot of love from the NBA world at this point and he only has himself to blame for it. Durant was one of the more beloved players in the league earlier on in his career, but that seems like a distant memory now.

He first rubbed a lot of people the wrong way when he joined the 73-win Golden State Warriors in 2016 after losing to them in the playoffs and things have only gotten worse since then. The latest on the drama front with Durant has been his trade request to the Nets and fans are not happy with him for the way he has gone about doing things, with one, in particular, firing off an epic rant where he said Durant’s legacy is not that of an all-time great.

It is easy to see why so many people have been put off by him when you look at all that has happened since 2016. Even if you try to justify the move to Golden State by saying that he was their best player and led them to those titles by winning Finals MVP, there is no defending this Nets saga.

The Nets did almost everything that Durant and Kyrie Irving wanted them to do since they joined in 2019, but he now wants out because things are not going well, which is a terrible look. It further adds to the sentiment that he runs away when faced with adversity, but Durant still feels that his legacy has never been stronger amidst all of this, something most would disagree with. This is a guy who was the darling of the basketball world after he called his mother the real MVP after winning the award in 2014 and it’s a bit sad to see how things have gone so wrong between him and the fans.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
