Chicago Bulls Would Get Donovan Mitchell For Coby White, Lonzo Ball, Patrick Williams, And 3 First Round Picks In Proposed Trade

The Chicago Bulls find themselves in a bit of a weird spot with their current roster. The team is good enough to be excellent in the regular season, but even with Zach LaVine returning after free agency, we don’t have a team that can be confident about getting out of the Eastern Conference. They added Andre Drummond and Goran Dragic, but those signings hardly take them that much closer to the NBA championship.

With that in mind, the Bulls could perhaps make a move that would add another star and potentially take them to the next level. Donovan Mitchell is obviously on the trade market, and the Bulls could potentially put a package together that could land him. The Jazz and Danny Ainge are looking for a hefty return in any trade involving Mitchell, but the Bulls have some promising prospects.

Heavy.com suggested a transaction that might just work, it would allow the Bulls to create a Big 3 of Donovan Mitchell, DeMar DeRozan, and Zach LaVine while giving the Jazz promising players like Lonzo Ball and Coby White. They could also add picks to the deal which the Jazz are looking for.

Bulls receive: Donovan Mitchell, Jarred Vanderbilt (can’t be traded until August 30)

Jazz receive: Lonzo Ball, Patrick Williams, Coby White, 2027 1st-Round Pick, 2028 1st-Round Pick Swap, 2029 1st-Round Pick

This might not be enough for the Jazz, who reportedly asked the New York Knicks for as many as 7 first-round picks. Lonzo is an excellent player, though, and White also can become really good, making this a potentially attractive proposition.

The Charlotte Hornets and the Washington Wizards were named as other interested teams, but it’s hard to see what they could offer that would be better than this package. It remains to be seen if the Bulls would give up Lonzo, who was quite good for them before injury troubles, but adding Mitchell could change things for them.
