Charles Barkley Explains Why Stephen Curry And Isiah Thomas Are The Best Point Guards Of All Time: “Magic Johnson Is A Little Unique Because He’s A 6-Foot-10 Point Guard. He Played It Differently.”

Stephen Curry is perhaps one of the best players in the NBA right now. The greatest shooter the league has ever seen, Curry is the centerpiece of the Golden State Warriors’ offensive system. Winning 4 NBA championships along with 2 MVP trophies and a Finals MVP trophy, Curry’s resume speaks for itself.

After missing out on the playoffs for the last two seasons, Steph and the Warriors came in for vengeance in the 2022 playoffs. Dominating all the teams in their playoff run, Curry and the Dubs showed why they are one arguably the best team in the league in the last 10 years.

While a 4th title for the Dubs was incredible, this 2022 NBA championship has taken Curry to a different level in terms of All-Time conversations. Finally winning his first Finals MVP trophy, the “Baby Face Assassin” now has won it all.

Given how he has ascended into becoming one of the best PGs in the game, Charles Barkley recently explained why Magic Johnson had a unique way of playing the point guard spot, which was significantly different from Curry and Isiah Thomas.

“Magic Johnson is a little unique because he’s a 6-foot-10 point guard… He played it differently. But I put Steph right up there with Isiah Thomas as the best little guards to ever play the game.”

The Suns legend was also impressed with Curry’s exploits in the playoffs. In an interview with NBC Sports, Chuck claimed that this title win has made him one of the best point guards to ever play the game and put him beside Isiah Thomas as one of the best guards the NBA has ever seen.

“I said after he won this one, that puts him on the list with Isiah Thomas… He’s at the table in the Hall of Fame with Isiah Thomas as probably the best point guards. Those two guys are probably the two best points to ever play the game. He’s one of the greatest players we’ve ever had,”

“He’s a great kid, too. It’s always fun to see him and be around him. He’s had an unbelievable career. I look at all these lists and he’s somewhere between 10 and 20. It just depends on your preference.”

This is certainly some high praise for Curry. Over the years, the 34-year-old has shown the world why underestimating him and the Warriors might be a mistake. Given how dominant he has been, it won’t be a surprise if Stephen Curry is known as best point guard at the end of his career.
