Donovan Mitchell Calls Out The Media For Spreading Fake Rumors About Him: “They Been Doin That A Lot Recently”

The rumor mill of NBA trades is in full form right now, with superstars being linked to other teams left, right, and center. Be it the likes of Kevin Durant, who has requested a trade, or Russell Westbrook, who had a difficult 2021-22 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, superstars are being linked to multiple rumors right now.

Among these star names is Utah Jazz’s superstar shooting guard Donovan Mitchell. Over the years, Mitchell and the Jazz have established themselves as one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Often ending up with some of the best records in the West, the Jazz have looked like a contender in the regular season. But things haven’t panned out in the postseason.

Often crashing out in the first or second round, the Jazz knew that they had to change something in their roster. This offseason, the team certainly has shown some intent in shipping out their longtime center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Given the number of picks and players they received from the Gobert trade, many reports have claimed that the team might be looking to trade their superstar guard Mitchell as well.

With multiple reports linking him to the likes of the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat, reports of Mitchell’s eventual departure have been rampant of late. But it seems like the player isn’t the biggest fan of the numerous rumors about him.

In a recent post by teammate Eric Paschall where the former called out a false report with the comments ‘False News’, Mitchell had a rather cryptic reply saying,

Lol they been doin that a lot recently 😭😭

“They been doin that a lot recently”

Mitchell is certainly not the only NBA star who has been irritated by the rumors by media. Multiple stars like Kevin Durant have also called out the media in the past.

As far as the reports are concerned, Mitchell should be concerned about the direction the Jazz are headed to. In the Gobert trade, the team got 5 first round picks and many role players putting them in prime position to enter a re-building phase. Unless Utah is willing to add a superstar alongside him, Mitchell staying with the team might not be the wisest decision by the guard.
