Stephen Curry Jokes About Draymond Green’s Podcast Being More Relevant Than Him: “It’s Been An Amazing Year. But Somehow I’m Still Getting Overshadowed By Draymond Green’s Podcast.”

Stephen Curry just delivered one of the best monologues in ESPYS history as the host of this year’s event. He’s already poked fun at the likes of former host LeBron James, who hosted the event 2 years before Curry was even drafted into the NBA. The host each year starts off by poking fun at their colleagues, and Curry was no different.

During the Warriors’ playoff run this season, a lot of the attention started shifting towards Draymond Green at points through the postseason because of Green’s podcast and how he would be putting out episodes hours after the game ended. It didn’t distract him from the court but helped his podcast become one of the best available podcasts on the entire sport.

Curry knows the impact Green’s podcast has been having on the NBA community and decided to joke about it on the ESPYS stage, saying that he is being overshadowed by Green’s podcast despite having a great season where he won his first Finals MVP.

Steph Curry: “It’s been an amazing year. But somehow I’m still getting overshadowed – by Draymond Green’s podcast.”

Draymond is preparing for a transition into broadcasting after his playing career is over, already signed on to become a part of Inside The NBA, when his schedule allows. He is built to be a TV personality and could become iconic alongside the legendary Inside crew with Shaq, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson.

Curry might be overexaggerating about being overshadowed by the podcast. Case in point, the ESPYs asked him to host and not Draymond, mainly because Curry’s all-world efforts this year are pretty universally recognized.

Hopefully, we see an offseason special with Curry as a guest on Green’s podcast and the two of them can break down every single playoff feud they had this year and more stories from this postseason run that saw the Warriors climb back to the NBA mountaintop.
