The Kevin Durant sweepstakes is active and teams are constantly finding more ways to send an offer to the disgruntled Brooklyn Nets, who have seen their attempt at a championship push fall flat with the desire of both their star players to leave the team. While Kyrie is a manageable asset, Kevin Durant is not as easy to manage.

KD’s value is much higher than Irving’s, as Kyrie only has one suitor in the Lakers heavily interested in signing him. Durant has a lot more interest from various teams like the Heat, Raptors, and Suns. But what about the Golden State Warriors?

The idea of a KD reunion in Golden State has been floated around before but there are massive challenges like not being able to trade Andrew Wiggins because of trade rules. However, Ric Bucher has reported that an NBA GM believes the Warriors could be a team to keep an eye on in a trade for Durant, as it allows them to go all-in on adding more banners in the present.

“I would give up all those young guys. And who would you rather have, KD or Wiggins? The time is now. When Steph goes, so do their championship chances.” (h/t Ric Bucher – FOX Sports

Kevin Durant back on the Warriors and Kyrie Irving playing with LeBron James again means the NBA just stepped inside a time machine and went back to 2017. KD on the Warriors today would make the team favorites to repeat as champions and it would be almost impossible to stop them.

The Warriors need to figure out a trade package for the 2-time Finals MVP that will be centered around James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and Jordan Poole, along with picks. Whether GSW should give up their entire future for a 34-year-old KD is a debate people will be on different sides of. If Joe Lacob is convinced, he knows what needs to be done.
