The Brooklyn Nets are currently working on getting a deal done for Kevin Durant, with many teams interested in the player, yet a lot of them are reluctant to comply with the Nets’ asking price. Recently, the Minnesota Timberwolves rejected sending Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and four draft picks to Brooklyn, and they’re not the only team willing to turn down the chance to land Kevin Durant.
Meanwhile, many fans and analysts try to figure out which team could be the best destination for Durant, who has a list of preferred destinations but wouldn’t mind joining a different team. One of those is the Golden State Warriors, who could send a big package to Barclays Center in exchange for KD.
According to Marc J. Spears, the Warriors are interested in bringing Durant back and have already identified a compelling package that would unlock negotiations with the Brooklyn Nets. During a recent appearance on ESPN Radio (via NBC Sports), Spears explained how this situation could work for Golden State.
“The one team I’m telling you guys to keep an eye on is the Golden State Warriors,” Spears said. “Golden State could have the best package for both parties. Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, All-Star Andrew Wiggins, the former No. 2 pick James Wiseman. What the Nets want is a young All-Star and want perhaps a future All-Star. They’re all under 30. They also want picks, maybe the ability to swap picks. But if you can get those four players, if I’m the Nets, I’m very, very happy.
“For Kevin Durant, the Warriors — they’re very familiar with [Durant] and vice versa. He knows where to live in San Francisco. He knows how the offense works. He knows he can win a championship there. Yeah, Steve Kerr would probably have to figure some things out. But with each passing day that this carries on, I’ve heard the Warriors have interest in terms of a young haul, in terms of people being happy on both sides. To me, the Golden State option is the best option.”
After Instagram page Mock Trades shared this potential trade, many fans reacted to it. While some strongly disagreed, asking why the Warriors would agree to the move, others saw it as the perfect trade for Durant.
I don’t see the warriors doing this, they won without him, why would they get rid of their future for someone they don’t need?
Wiggins can’t be traded there Ben Simmons on there and they both still on they rookie deal
Definitely the best package
This is definitely the offer the Nets can’t refuse
Golden State would hang up; they ain’t giving up their entire future when they just proved they can win a chip without him
lmao why would warriors do that??
Oh yes
Ben Simmons praying this happen
Brooklyn should take that in a heart beat.
Funny how that’s basically GS bench and they then become BK starters haha
Brooklyn would be interesting no lie if it was to happen
4 people for one person is crazy….gotta. get on that level fr
I’ll take that trade in a heartbeat big WWWW for the Nets
That nets team yo be honest might do better than the warriors squad
I like the trade but I think that’s a lot for golden state to give up. I would have to keep either wiseman or kuminga but id throw in moody.
Nets would be nasty
This is still a rumor, but one of the few teams that can meet the Nets’ asking price is the Warriors. They have the youth to make business with Brooklyn, but sending four players to Barclays Center would be too much for them. The Warriors just won the NBA championship, so it’s not like they are desperate to land KD.
Anything can happen in the NBA, but as things stand now, it doesn’t look like we’ll see a reunion between Durant and the Dubs.
