Darius Garland is staying in Cleveland despite all the rumors suggesting he wasn’t a beloved player in the team’s locker room. The young guard is still expected to do big things with the up-and-coming Cavaliers and the team has secured his services for five more years.

Garland was linked with a move to New York and Dallas, as both the Knicks and Mavericks had them on their radar, but nothing will change for the guard, who is keeping his talents in Cleveland.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Garland has agreed to a $193 million, five-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This new contract could be worth $231 million under certain conditions, making it a great one for Darius.

Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star guard Darius Garland has agreed on a five-year, $193M maximum designated rookie contract extension that could be worth as much as $231M, @KlutchSports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN. It is the largest deal in franchise history.

Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star guard Darius Garland has agreed on a five-year, $193M maximum designated rookie contract extension that could be worth as much as $231M, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN. It is the largest deal in franchise history.

This is great news for the Cavaliers, who already re-signed a big player like Ricky Rubio. They have a very interesting group of players that can compete for big things in the future, and Garland is without any hesitation one of those agents.

The future is bright for the 2016 NBA champions, as they hope to relive old glories with these players that have already shown their quality. If there was any doubt that Garland’s relationship with the Cavs was damaged, these new developments have told the opposite.
