Jayson Tatum is in the middle of the biggest series of his young career so far, as the Celtics play the Golden State Warriors to win their first NBA championship since 2008. Tatum has been their big star all season, and while he’s struggled to play to his very best in the first few games, him being able to perform in the remaining games and clinching it for Boston means none of that other stuff would matter.
And even though the pressure and focus must both be immense for Jayson at the moment, he still has the time to keep an eye out on what else is going on in the NBA world. And very few people are as important to Tatum as Bradley Beal, with the two having known each other since a young age. They have a very wholesome dynamic, with Tatum having left Beal a heartfelt message, one that was played for Brad during an interview with Taylor Rooks recently.
And as a part of this, he also joking called out Beal for the passionate speech he recently made to his AAU team, telling the Wizards star that he needs to cool it with the cussing in front of kids.
“The real St. Louis GOAT, legend, you know. Cuz without you, it wouldn’t be me. So you don’t get enough credit, but imma always give you the credit. And you know, you got to relax, man. You got to chill. You on all those videos cussing out the kids, you got to chill. But no, you my big brother man, appreciate you. You know it’s all love. And I’m gonna see you this summer.”
Beal was trying to impart necessary wisdom to those kids on that team, but Tatum is also funny and right in asking him to chill. Both Tatum and Beal are from Missouri and will likely see one another during the offseason, and Beal, along with all of Boston, will be hoping that Tatum will have a ring on his hand when that does happen.
