Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are 1 win away from returning to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2019. Last night, the Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 on the road, to take a 3-0 lead in their Western Conference Finals match-up.

The Warriors are the most experienced team left in the playoffs for championships, and Klay Thompson believes that makes them the favorites to win the NBA championship.

In his post-game press conference, Klay Thompson was asked about the Golden State Warriors’ aspirations to win the NBA championship, and whether they should be considered the favorites to win it all.

Thompson noted that he does believe he and the Warriors are the favorites to win the NBA championship next month, citing their championship pedigree and recent history of winning 3 NBA championships between 2014 to 2018.

Thompson added that the young talent the Warriors have acquired since then has also begun to mature and the entire team is clicking at the right time.

"Yeah Im not gonna say anybody else… We got championship DNA and we got some great young talent and we're just meshing at the right time."

“Yeah I’m not gonna say anybody else. I’m pretty sure we have home-court if we were to win the next game. We got championship DNA and we got some great young talent and we’re just meshing at the right time.”

Thompson is clearly confident in the Warriors and believes that they are the team to beat going forward.

Considering how well the Golden State Warriors have been playing during the playoffs, making quick work of Denver and Memphis in 5 and 6 games respectively, and their 3-0 lead over the Mavericks, they will be considered the favorites to win the NBA championship.

For Thompson, this is not a new environment, as he has been to this dance before, and he and the Warriors will be hoping to continue their incredible legacy by winning the NBA championship once again.
