NBA Rumors: Lakers, Trail Blazers, Mavericks, And Hawks Reportedly Interested In Zach LaVine

Zach LaVine is testing the waters of free agency this summer after a couple of years playing with the Chicago Bulls. The shooting guard finally made it to the playoffs this season, leading the squad alongside DeMar DeRozan.

Even though he’s enjoyed his time in Windy City, that doesn’t mean he will stay there beyond this season, and recent rumors suggest that his time with the Bulls could be finished. LaVine is still young and an excellent player, which is why so many teams are reportedly interested in his services.

KC Johnson of NBC Sports recently revealed that LaVine staying in Chicago is not as likely as it was before, while also explaining which teams are keeping tabs on this situation to lure him away from the United Center:

“What’s certain is that league gossip throughout this week has linked LaVine to at least four teams — Lakers, Trail Blazers, Mavericks, Hawks — with almost certainly more to follow,” Johnson reported.

Every team mentioned except the Lakers is looking for a second star. The Portland Trail Blazers have tried to get Damian Lillard help for many years now, and this offseason presents a big opportunity to do so.

The Dallas Mavericks have tried to do the same with Luka Doncic, and the Atlanta Hawks want to pair Trae Young with another good player. The Lakers have LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, but these three didn’t play well together and instead of looking for veterans, they want to add fresh legs to the roster.

Zach just tasted the playoffs, and he definitely doesn’t want to miss that again. He won’t miss suitors this offseason, but he also wants to get paid. Whoever can give him those two things will land a terrific player for the future.
