The Philadelphia 76ers faced a huge challenge on Thursday, as they traveled to Toronto to try to close out their first-round series against the Raptors. The Canadian team came back from a 3-0 deficit and put the series 3-2, which set the alarms for the Sixers.
However, when everybody thought another Doc Rivers team would blow a big lead, the Sixers showed up and dominated Nick Nurse’s squad, eventually winning the game 132-97. This was a great performance by the Sixers, who clear doubts about them, at least for this round.
They didn’t need extra motivation to finish the job, but one fan made sure to put more pressure on them. On Twitter user shared a picture of an old lady locked in a cage, with a caption that read:
“I’m not letting my grandma out until you guys close out the Raptors,” the fan wrote while mentioning the Sixers’ account, as well as Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris.

After the game was over and the Sixers confirmed their status as one of the best four teams in the East, Harris took to Twitter to ask the fan for proof that his supposed grandma was free.
“Need evidence that she is free and safe,” the forward wrote.

This was a hilarious exchange between the player and the fan. Fortunately, the Sixers took care of business, with James Harden balling, dominating the Raptors.
Unfortunately, Joel Embiid suffered an injury that will keep him sidelined indefinitely, which is a huge blow for Philly. Embiid is their best player and biggest weapon against the Miami Heat, but now Doc Rivers will have to make the adjustments to face another inspired team that dominated the Atlanta Hawks in the first round.
Philadelphia is looking dangerous right now, but there’s no doubt they would be a bigger threat to Miami if they had Embiid on the court.
