Last night, the Charlotte Hornets lost to the Atlanta Hawks in their play-in game. This loss marked the second time that the Hornets have failed to win the play-in game, as they lost their play-in game last year as well. It was a frustrating night for the Hornets in Atlanta, as they weren’t able to make the postseason despite coming very close. But one moment toward the end of the game showed the extent of that frustration.

In the 4th quarter, Miles Bridges was ejected from the game and walked back to the locker room. While walking back, one Atlanta fan was taunting him heavily. In his frustration, Bridges tried to throw his mouthguard at the fan but ended up hitting a young girl sitting near the taunting fan. Bridges was then ushered to the locker room to avoid the situation between him and the fan escalating any further.

After the game, Miles Bridges saw the clip of him throwing his mouthguard on Twitter. Realizing that his mouthguard ended up hitting a young fan, Bridges request fans on Twitter to help him get in touch with her, presumably to apologize and make amends for his actions. Bridges also called his actions unacceptable, showing his remorse for what happened in a tense situation.

Bridges clearly didn’t intend to hit the young fan and was more focused on the fan who had been heckling him while he was exiting the floor. Regardless of whether he intended to hit her or not, Bridges must have felt bad about it and wanted to try and fix the situation to some extent.

Miles Bridges actually had a really good season with the Charlotte Hornets and is in line for a massive $173 million max contract extension in the offseason. The Hornets have identified Bridges and LaMelo Ball as two building blocks for their franchise, and want to secure their future as soon as possible.
