Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism from fans and NBA analysts after their disappointing performance in the NBA playoffs.

Irving and the Nets were swept in the first round by the Boston Celtics, Kyrie’s former team. The Nets looked inferior to the Nets in each game, and have been slammed for their play. But Irving seems to take objection to the criticism on social media.

Kyrie Irving took to Twitter to share some thoughts on the Brooklyn Nets being eliminated from the playoffs.

Irving shared a quote that said people who are capable of building will build, and those who are not will criticize those who can. Perhaps Irving is taking aim at fans and the media, specifically those members of the media who have never played in the NBA or found success in the league at the level he has.

“Those who can, build.
Those who can't, criticize.”

“Those who can, build. Those who can’t, criticize.”

Irving has been criticized a lot for the way the Nets’ season went. Irving wasn’t just blamed for the Nets’ exit, but also for the tumultuous season the team had.

Irving’s decision to not get vaccinated cost the team massively, as he was only eligible to play away games for most of the season. Even Irving has come out recently and stated that his decision to not get vaccinated served as a distraction for most of the year.

The Nets and Irving will be looking to the offseason to try and rebuild their team.

Irving has confirmed that he intends on staying with the Nets, as he will not be abandoning his friend and teammate Kevin Durant. The Nets will have to build a solid roster around Irving, Durant, and Ben Simmons if they want to capitalize on their championship window in the near future.
