Bam Adebayo is already doing good things with the Miami Heat, becoming one of the best centers in the league, as well as one of the most capable defenders in the association. The big man is doing everything he can to leave a mark on the team, even helping them reach the NBA Finals in the infamous Orlando bubble.
This year, the Heat are in a privileged position, trying to win it all after securing the home-court advantage at least until the Finals. Bam will try to do as much as he can to help Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry take this squad to the biggest series for the second time in two years.
Even if they don’t make it this year, Adebayo knows he’ll have more chances to achieve this. He wants to stay in Miami for the long run and become one of the best players in team history. Recently, the center talked with Ashley Nicole Moss of Sports Illustrated, revealing his goals with the team.
“I picture my way like D-Wade’s. He’s the greatest player to ever walk to and have a Heat jersey. When I retire, that’s how I wanna be. I wanna be like, it was D-Wade and Bam, the two greatest to ever wear a Heat jersey. That’s what I think about when I retire,” Adebayo stated.

This is great news for Heat Nation. They know Bam is an incredible talent who is still young and constantly improving his game. Even though Jimmy Butler is the leader of the team, Adebayo is the present and the future of this franchise. He could finish his career being one of the greatest Heat players of all time, but time will tell if he can achieve it or not.
Dwyane Wade was a 3x NBA champion, MVP candidate, one of the most electrifying players to watch, and more. If Adebayo can get closer to that, become a champion, add a couple of individual awards and keep a consistent level, he’ll likely be a top 5 Heat of all time.
