Jerami Grant is one of the best two-way forwards in the game. He is capable of scoring well and guarding multiple positions on the basketball court. Currently, Jerami Grant is averaging 19.5 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 2.4 APG.

There is no doubt that Jerami Grant has commanded a lot of trade interest from opposing teams this past season. The Portland Trail Blazers were reportedly one of the teams that were interested in acquiring him.

Recently, NBA insider James Edwards III, claimed that if Jerami Grant does get traded by the Detroit Pistons this offseason, it will be to the Portland Trail Blazers. That would be a fantastic addition for the Trail Blazers, as Jerami Grant is the type of forward they’ve been missing for the last few years. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype relayed the news.

I reported it, and you did as well, that the Blazers were one of the teams persistent in trying to get Grant. I don’t think at the time they had the assets Troy Weaver was looking for to trade Grant. He’s somebody they like and a good player. Troy had all the leverage. He doesn’t have to trade Grant.

Portland’s going to find itself in an interesting situation where they could have a high draft pick coming up… Maybe if it’s high enough, it’s an offer the Pistons can’t refuse. If Jerami gets traded anywhere this offseason, it’s going to be Portland. It feels like Portland is still the front-runner.

It remains to be seen if Jerami Grant does indeed get traded to the Trail Blazers. If the Detroit Pistons end up putting Jerami Grant on the trade block once again, he’ll likely receive interest from other teams as well.

The Portland Trail Blazers are clearly having a re-tool sort of year, with hopes of making some noise next season. Perhaps they’ll be able to do so, and we’ll see what sort of moves they do in the offseason.
