Jason Williams Says Kobe Bryant Isn’t A Top 5 Player In Lakers History

Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players of all time, becoming a complete legend during his 20-year stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five championships and several individual awards in one of the most honored careers in NBA history.

Great as he was, not everybody is willing to give him his flowers, favoring other legends over the Black Mamba. Some people think it’s disrespectful, but others think it’s the right thing.

In a conversation on Players Choice, former NBA player Jason Williams revealed that he doesn’t think Kobe Bryant is a top 10 player of all time. After one of the hosts stated that he has Kobe at 11th on the all-time list, ‘White Chocolate’ agreed with that notion, claiming that he doesn’t have Kobe very high on his all-time list.

“Kobe’s not as high on my list as people would really think he should be,” Williams said. “I’m not even sure he’s on the top five of the all-time greatest Lakers.”

These comments are eyebrow-raising, to say the least. Many people think Kobe is at least a top 5 player of all time, which is why is outrageous that some folks consider him outside the top 10 list of all time.

If we talk about the greatest Lakers in history, Bryant is the only one considered at the same level as Magic Johnson, so it’s unclear what players Williams thinks are higher than Kobe on his list.

Lakers Nation knows Kobe was incredibly great for them, taking the team to the top on many occasions, even when many people believed they would fail. Kobe left a huge mark on the game and it’s easy to see why people call him a top-5 player ever. Evidently, not everybody thinks that way, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
