Carmelo Anthony has been a solid sixth man for the Los Angeles Lakers this season, providing shooting and shot creation off the bench. Currently, Carmelo Anthony is averaging 13.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 1.0 APG on the season, while shooting 38.9% from beyond the arc.

There has been a lot of noise that has been surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers due to them falling far below expectations. Some have even suggested that stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis should be traded.

“People in the league who have a lot of experience say they should trade ’em,” Windhorst said of James and Davis. “Trade ’em both.”

After tonight’s performance against the Golden State Warriors, it is hard to envision the Los Angeles Lakers trading LeBron James unless he asks for a move. It makes more sense to retool around the LeBron James-Anthony Davis duo in the offseason.

As of now though, the Los Angeles Lakers’ goal will be to finish the season in the best way possible, and that will require them to be united as a team. Carmelo Anthony has recently expressed his appreciation for the fact that the Lakers are not “pointing fingers” and claimed that the Lakers are making sure that the team stays together as a unit.

Carmelo Anthony: "The thing I'm glad we're not doing right now is pointing fingers."

He said the Lakers are doing a good job making sure their locker room stays together without listening to the outside noise.

“The thing I’m glad we’re not doing right now is pointing fingers.”… He said the Lakers are doing a good job making sure their locker room stays together without listening to the outside noise.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers improve their play in the coming weeks, and potentially make the playoffs by getting out of the play-in tournament. They are a solid team, and with Anthony Davis’ return, they should be even better.

Carmelo Anthony will be crucial in the team’s quest for the playoffs, as his bench scoring will be important for keeping the team afloat during the times LeBron James sits. Carmelo Anthony is an experienced veteran, and perhaps we’ll see him rise to the challenge.
