LeBron James is a generational talent, and there are several reasons for his success. He has been a dominant force in the league for almost two decades and is yet to slow down. Despite being 37-years-old now, he is without a doubt the best player on the Los Angeles Lakers roster.

Moreover, for many, he still holds the crown of being the best player in the league too. So it is quite obvious that LBJ is simply amazing and we won’t see a player like him anytime soon. But did you know that LeBron has achieved so much while arguably playing with his weaker hand?

Not weaker per se, but the King is a lefty and does almost every task with his left hand. When it comes to playing basketball, that isn’t the case. He prefers his right hand to dominate opponents on a nightly basis.

But once in a while, fans might have noticed that LeBron can score with his left hand just as easily as his right hand. So that begs the question, why does the 4-time NBA champion play with his right hand?

Well, LeBron gave an answer to the question himself in an interview. He credited none other than NBA legends Michael Jordan and Penny Hardaway for this transition.

“I have no idea how I became a right-handed basketball player. I think maybe it was because of Michael Jordan, Penny Hardaway, guys that I looked up to growing up. Seeing those guys shoot righty, I guess I’ll shoot righty. I’m pretty much a left-hand guy. I don’t take many of those shots, but I’m capable of making those shots. I work on my craft, I work on both hands.”

LeBron made this revelation back in 2017 and as he revealed, he is indeed capable of making shots with both of his hands with great skill.

As of now, the Lakers are in need of every bit of skill that the 37-year-old can provide the team. It is a well-known fact that the Lakers are struggling to make it to the playoffs, but LeBron has made it clear that he has no plans to give up. Will he succeed in carrying the team to the playoffs? We will find out soon.
