Michael Jordan left an unmatched legacy in the NBA. The Chicago Bulls legend achieved everything an athlete could imagine, be it on or off the court. Being one of the most popular players of all time, fans are always keen about knowing some unheard stories about Mike.
Even more so when the stories are off the court because usually, those are some of the most interesting ones. Speaking of such stories, popular host Joy Taylor revealed one such story about Mike in a recent episode of her podcast.
Since MJ just turned 59-years-old, fans were without a doubt excited to hear Taylor’s story. Well, as for the story, she revealed how she met Mike. But the meeting didn’t end with just meeting him. Apparently, the two almost had a few tequila shots, but her brother didn’t allow it.
“I met Michael at his gold tournament. Jason was playing with him, he was a Jordan athlete. I’m a huge MJ Zealot. So I was like, ‘If you don’t introduce me to Michael, I’m not going to talk to you no more like we’re not family anymore.’ So Michael walks in the first night into the restaurant and I’m like, ‘Alright, let’s go. I need to meet Michael.’ So I walked up to him and I’m just like, ‘Hi.’ He’s like, ‘Whatever,’ they’re talking and he’s like, ‘Oh, this is my little sister.’ I’m like, ‘Hi nice to meet you.’ [Jason]’s like, ‘It’s her 21st birthday today.’ So Mike’s like, ‘Oh it’s your 21st birthday. That’s so awesome. Like, let’s go do a tequila shot.’ I’m like, ‘F**k yeah. Let’s go do a tequila shot. I’m going to do a tequila shot with Michael Jordan. Let’s go.’ And Jason was like, ‘Hell no.’ No, he totally blocked it. I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ I’m like, ‘Come on, this is Michael!’ He said the reason that he didn’t let me go was because he was mad that Michael didn’t ask him to do a shot with him.”
This is without a doubt one of the lesser-known stories about Jordan, off the court. Well, anyway, if it weren’t for her brother Joy Taylor’s dream of having tequila shots with Jordan would have turned into a reality.
