Michael Jordan and Larry Bird are two of the most iconic players in the history of the NBA. Bird was on top of the NBA when Jordan entered the league in 1984. On top of that, Bird was also responsible for handing Jordan his first playoff defeats, as Bird’s legendary Celtics dismantled the Chicago Bulls with ease.
But as time went on, Jordan established himself as the best player on the planet and ascended to the top of the NBA. Whereas Bird eventually retired, having lost a step due to his advanced age. But the two had a great relationship, with many considering Jordan the successor to Bird as the ruler of the Eastern Conference.
Both players were icons during their time in the league together. And anything they attached their name to instantly garnered more notoriety. So it didn’t come as a massive surprise that the duo featured in a McDonald’s commercial once, where they played a strange game of 1-on-1.

In the commercial, Michael Jordan comes to a practice court with a Big Mac. Bird offers to play Jordan for the burger and dictates that the first player to miss a shot would have to watch the other eat the burger.
The two went on to make all their shots, with each shot getting more ridiculous than the next. The commercial ends with them trying to make a shot from the top of the building, showing both how talented they were, and how driven they were to win the burger.
Jordan loved McDonald’s, especially their breakfast. Recently, Charles Oakley revealed that Jordan would eat Mcdonald’s every day for breakfast. But he was not the only one. Even Charles Barkley would come to practice with a bag of McDonald’s breakfast and eat while walking on the elliptical. McDonald’s clearly became the breakfast of champions because Jordan regularly ate it.
