Draymond Green Reveals The Smartest Players He’s Ever Faced: LeBron James, Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, And Ja Morant

Some NBA players are well-known for having an immensely good feel for the game of basketball. Whether that is developed through repetition in the league or whether it is due to a player’s natural talent, there are some basketball players that are well-known for knowing all the complexities of the game.

Draymond Green is one of those players: he is well known for his savvy on the defensive end of the floor and is a tremendous passer for a power forward. He is one of the reasons that the Warriors are able to play their brand of basketball which focuses on ball movement and sharing the ball.

When speaking to JJ Redick on The Old Man and the Three podcast, Draymond Green revealed the “smartest” players that he has ever played against. He listed veterans LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Rajon Rondo while adding that Ja Morant is “creeping into that category”. (52:00)

Those players are well-known for their playmaking ability and getting their teammates in the optimal spots on the court. There’s no question that all of those players understand the intricacies of the game, and are able to elevate their teammates. Draymond Green is one of those players whose contributions don’t show up on the box score, but he is highly regarded for his knowledge of the game, so he definitely recognizes others who know the game as he does.

Draymond Green has been out for the Golden State Warriors, and there is no question that they will be much better when he returns to the court and starts making plays for their shooters. The Warriors are once again contenders this season, and some have picked them to win the 2021-22 NBA championship. They definitely have a good chance of doing so, and Draymond Green’s skills will be crucial to making that happen.
