The 2021-22 NBA season is turning out to be one of the most entertaining seasons in recent years. Even before the season, it was quite obvious that the battle to win this year’s NBA Championship would be neck-to-neck.
Apart from teams being in a close competition, the race for winning the MVP award is quite close as well. While Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are without a doubt the current favorites to win the honor, LeBron James is starting to make a case for himself as well.
This has, of course, led to fans once again debating who is the best player among the three. Although it is no surprise that Curry and Durant are in this conversation, the two superstars are still in their prime. The inclusion of LeBron is truly amazing as he will soon turn 37-years-old, but is yet to slow down.
The debate might quickly turn into an argument among fans as we have seen that happen countless times in the past as well. Anyway, “Hoop Central” on Twitter took their chances and asked the fans to rank the three players in an order of 1-3.
Rank these players 1-3:
LeBron James
Kevin Durant
Steph Curry

Depends on what you‘re asking? All-Time it‘s Lebron, Durant, Curry. Current form it‘s Durant, Curry, Lebron.

Prior to the last 2 weeks where Steph has been not himself at all:
1. Steph
2. KD
3. LBJ
Now:
1. KD
2. Steph
3. LBJ
Steph has to snap out of this slump. These last 2 weeks have hurt him tremendously. Once he bounces back, he'll be back 1. Under 40% from 3 isn't cutting it!

I would choose Curry to start a franchise team with. LeBron and KD are perhaps better all around players, but Curry has been very dominant and a greater leader for a very long time. He's also stuck by the Warriors, and I greatly admire that.

In the original tweet, it was unclear whether they were asking about ranking the players on an all-time basis or for this season. If we talk about all-time, LeBron James is definitely better than Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.
On the other hand, for this season KD is on top for this season. But for the second and the third spot, a debate can be made for either LBJ or Curry. Steph might be scoring slightly more than James, but he is not that efficient, at least for now.
Furthermore, LeBron also missed eleven games this season and is just getting in his rhythm. This has led to a change in the narrative around his season, with Stephen A. Smith recently calling LeBron a top-5 player in the league.
The conclusion to this debate can only be set in stone once the season is over. For that, there is still more than half of the season to go.
