Nikola Jokic is just two wins away from becoming an NBA champion. The Joker has silenced his critics by leading the Denver Nuggets to their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history.

Jokic has the potential to go down as one of the best centers to ever play in the league. His teammate Aaron Gordon explained it’s because Jokic is redefining the center position. Gordon compared the two-time NBA MVP’s impact to Magic Johnson’s for the point guard position.

“Players that can just do anything, regardless of size,” Gordon said in the preview interview of Game 4. “He’s kind of like breaking that mold, kind of like how Magic Johnson did with the point guard position. He’s breaking the mold of the center position that’s only been dominated down on the block.”

Gordon added: “Now, he’s being dominant from 40 feet and everywhere on the floor.”

Nikola Jokic is averaging 30.5 PPG, 13.4 RPG, and 10.1 APG in the 2023 NBA playoffs. He is shooting 54.6% from the field and 47.0% beyond the three-point line.

As Gordon stated, Jokic is indeed dominating from everywhere on the floor. Gordon isn’t the only person who believes it.

NBA analyst JJ Redick destroyed Stephen A. Smith when the latter claimed Nikola Jokic wasn’t dominant in the post.

Nikola Jokic Could Go Down As The Best Center To Play In NBA History

Nikola Jokic is still 28 years old and has already been named the NBA MVP twice in his career. He is on the verge of becoming an NBA champion, and as Aaron Gordon pointed out, he’s redefining the center position.

Jokic has made it the norm for a modern-day NBA center to be able to score, rebound, and assist efficiently. Keeping that in mind, NBA analyst Jay Williams believes Jokic has the potential to one day be regarded as the greatest center of all time.

“I’m gonna go with the one player that I think frankly before it’s all said and done, he will be the best center to ever play the game of basketball,” Williams claimed. “There you go. I’ve said it. Nikola Jokic.”

As of now, Jokic is missing a couple of NBA Championships to be in the conversation of the greatest centers of all time, but that’s about it.

Can Jokic get one step closer to sitting at that table in Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals? We will find out on Friday night in Miami.
