After going undrafted in 2016, Alex Caruso flew under the radar and went unnoticed by most fans early on.
Eventually, he found himself playing for L.A. during the 2017 Summer League, where he earned his first two-way contract after impressing the team with his performance.
He never turned into a huge star, but he became a valuable and beloved member of the team, bringing energy and effort every time he stepped on the floor.
So, in his first game back to Los Angeles as a member of the Bulls, it was only fitting for the team to honor him with a video tribute during the game.

Caruso was a fan favorite and somebody who could always be counted on to provide a boost for the team.
Caruso seemed to like his role there a lot and probably would have returned had the Lakers not decided to let him go in the summer.
“There was a sense of disappointment on Alex Caruso’s side there wasn’t a Lakers push to keep him, like come in at 80% of the Chicago number. It was essentially a ‘good luck in Chicago’ type of feel to it,” Amick said on The Athletic’s daily NBA podcast.
The funny thing is, Caruso is exactly the type of player the Lakers could use right now. With inconsistent performances across the board, and a lack of intensity on defense especially, he would have really helped them off the bench.
Regardless, Caruso seems to be making the most of his Bulls tenure. With season averages of 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game on 43% shooting, he’s thriving in his new environment.
Meanwhile, the Bulls are among the bests teams in the East, with a shot to advance far into the postseason.
