Allen Iverson Sent Big Warning To LeBron James In 2004: “They Love You Right Now But Please Believe Me, The First Incident, They Are Waiting.”

2 Min Read

Allen Iverson was one of the most polarizing players in the NBA during his active days. The Philadelphia 76ers had a strong personality and wasn’t shy to show it, which more often than not didn’t sit well with the league executives, especially former commissioner David Stern

AI was a big-time player who delighted fans every night, but those who clapped for him eventually became the same people that blasted him. Iverson was involved in many controversies during his career, and he knew very well how things could change as soon as he made the tiniest mistake.

Back in 2004, when LeBron James was just starting his honored NBA career, The Answer tried to warn him about the pros and cons of being a superstar. The former MVP made it clear that the people that loved LeBron were simply waiting for him to slip up to destroy him.

“I always let LeBron know off top, dawg. ‘They love you right now but please, believe me, the first incident – the first time something happens – they are waiting.'”

These were some wise words from Iverson, and just like he predicted, people turned against LeBron when he decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

Iverson, who we recently learned was the person who inspired Giannis Antetokounmpo to start playing basketball, had a terrific career until the league shadow banned him.

Fortunately, LeBron fought back and overcame all the criticism, proved doubters wrong and became one of the greatest players of all time. Right now, he’s considered the GOAT by many people, so you know he did everything he had to do to be successful.

It was a great piece of advice from the 2001 MVP, who unfortunately couldn’t finish his career as strong as James is doing it.
