Andre Drummond Says He Is Alfred To Joel Embiid’s Batman: “When Batman Is Out Doing His Stuff, He Needs An Alfred. When Batman’s Out There Stopping Crime, Alfred’s Out There Making Sure Everything Is Good.”

Andre Drummond landed in Philadelphia after a tumultuous stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. The center couldn’t deliver as the Lakers expected him to, which caused issues between him and the fans.

With Dwight Howard back in L.A., the Sixers signed Drummond. He priorly didn’t have a good relationship with starting center Joel Embiid. Well, things have gone smooth for these two, as they’ve shown a lot of understanding during their first months together

Amid the Ben Simmons drama, the Sixers are trying to have a good season with Embiid as their leader, and Drummond seems to be happy with that. Earlier this week, the big man explained his ‘duties’ with Joel Embiid, saying he serves as an Alfred to Joel’s Batman.

With Drummond here, he feels like he has an obligation to the big fella. Like he has to give him the proper lookout when he needs it.

“The dynamic has been great,” said Drummond on Tuesday. “When Batman is out doing his stuff, he needs an Alfrеd. When Batman’s out there stopping crimе, Alfrеd’s out there making sure everything is good. Whatever he nееds, I’m there with the quicknеss. I think that’s a good analogy.”

Drummond wants to win and he’s willing to do anything to accomplish that. After years of rivaling Embiid in the paint, they’re now teammates and the rebounding specialist has only one goal in mind.

“I’m here to win,” he said succinctly. “Whatever the capacity it may be and whatever role it needs to be in, I’m here to win, that’s why they brought me here to help this team in whatever way I can. Whether it’s to start when Joel needs a break or just to come off the bench and give a spark to our second unit. It’s a role I’ve embraced and it’s been very fun.”

Even though his past tenures haven’t shown he can do it, Drummond hopes to become an impactful player for Philadelphia. The Big man is ready to compete in the City of Brotherly Love. Still, it’ll take a lot of work to beat the powerhouses in the East and the new contenders that threaten to dethrone the Milwaukee Bucks.
