When discussing the best coaches in the game today, Tyronn Lue has to be included. Despite his relatively shallow head coaching experience, his tenures in Cleveland and L.A. have been widely successful and showcased his mastery of the sport.

Ahead of Game 2 of the Finals, Warriors veteran Andre Iguodala gave him tons of credit and praise for his leadership both on and off the court

“I think Tyronn Lue has done an incredible job of silencing critics… When an opposing team goes up against them, their antenna goes up in terms of the scout.”

If you don’t believe Iguodala, maybe you’ll believe LeBron James, who called Lue the best in the league back in April.

During the Los Angeles Clippers – New Orleans Pelicans game, LeBron James called Tyronn Lue the best coach in the game. This happened when the Los Angeles Clippers had a double-digit lead on the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans did end up winning the game though, behind a 30-point performance from Brandon Ingram.

“Simply the BEST coach in the game! ARGUE with your kids not me.”

Clippers forward Nic Batum even credited Lue with saving his life.

“[The Clippers] gave me another chance in this league to compete and be a basketball player, so I think that’s kind of my way to say thank you,” Batum said after a particularly explosive night. “I’m gonna do whatever it takes to win games and do something special. Even on the best day of my life.”

“Ty Lue saved my life, so I’ll stay with T-Lue unless they kick me out. He saved my career.”

For Lue, his talent as a coach goes beyond formulating game plans and plays. He inspires his players, unlocks their best, and holds everyone accountable.

While the Clippers have yet to bring home a title, 2023 could be their year. A healthy roster, revamped bench, and Lue’s effective voice might finally result in some real success for the franchise.
