The three-point shot has become an essential part of almost every team and player’s arsenal in the current era of the NBA. We are seeing more and more players pulling up from crazy distances and making the shots. The person who inspired the players the most is Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.

Curry has a savvy playing style where he relies mostly on his outside scoring. For his efforts, Steph is right on the doorstep of breaking a phenomenal record. He needs just seven more three-pointers to surpass Ray Allen and become the all-time three-point leader.

It is easier said than done and it has been proven over the last few games. Curry is so close to breaking the record, but even he might be nervous around such a huge feat. As a result, Steph hasn’t played like himself over the last few games. It is quite obvious that the pressure of breaking the record sooner rather than later is affecting his game.

Warriors forward Andre Iguodala spoke about the narrative around Chef Curry breaking the record. Iguodala didn’t hold back as he called out people for putting unnecessary pressure on his teammate.

Everyone’s trying to capitalize off the moment and it’s taking away from his moment you know what I mean. You gotta do it tonight, so we can record it and monetize it. It’s just kind of the new age of basketball phase we are in right now. So you know, it will happen, its just let it happen when it’s supposed to, not rush it or not forcing it. Letting it happen organically and let him enjoy his moment.”

What Iggy said was true about people pushing Steph to break the record as soon as possible. But his comments about monetizing it might be wrong. After all, fans all around the globe love these moments and pay money to see such moments live.

Also, with Steph being one of the faces of the league all around the world, it is quite obvious that fans want to see him break the record.

Knowing how amazing of a player Curry is, we might see him surpass Allen in the next few games. It might not happen in the upcoming fixture, but it is bound to happen soon.
