Andrew Wiggins Responds To Stephen A. Smith’s Criticism

2 Min Read

Andrew Wiggins heard what Stephen A. Smith had to say about him and replied to the ESPN analyst and those who are always criticizing him. The Golden State Warriors star has improved his level this season but he hasn’t reached the dimension he was expected to have when he was selected with the No. 1 overall pick.

Just like the Warriors, the season has been a rollercoaster for Wiggins. After the Dubs were defeated by 30 points by the Dallas Mavericks, Stephen A. went off on the Canadian player, saying he would trade him for cookies.

“I’d give [Andrew Wiggins] away for a box of cookies. I’m not talking about his talent … but for every one game he’s significant, there’s 20 games where it ain’t there.”

The player had the opportunity to respond to Smith and he had a big response, stating that people will always try to bring you down and he’s just focusing on getting better and helping his team in the last month of competition in the association.

“There’s always going to be people that are going to say negative things, constructive criticism or not,” Wiggins said, via Mark Medina of USA TODAY. “Some things are positive. Some things are negative. But I’m going to keep pushing either way.”

The Warriors are currently 10th in the Western Conference. They have the last spot for the play-in tournament and they need to start playing better if they want to keep it or improve their position on the standings.

Wiggins will have to step up and help Stephen Curry and Draymond Green if the Dubs aspire to have a chance to make it to the big party. If Maple Jordan takes things personally, we could see the Warriors making some noise in the last stretch of the season.
