The Los Angeles Lakers managed to upset the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, and have managed to advance to face the Golden State Warriors. There is no doubt that the team has the chance to advance deep into the playoffs, and potentially even make the Finals.

Recently, Anthony Davis got real on the Lakers’ playoff run, noting that he and LeBron James consider themselves one of the best duos in the league, and are trying to take advantage of their championship window.

“When you look at me and Bron, we consider ourselves one of the top duos in the league. We’re trying to do everything we can to try to take advantage of this window that we have. Championship-built teams don’t always come around.”

It is clear that the team has championship aspirations this season, and the talent level on the roster suggests that this is possible. Of course, the focus should be on the Warriors series first, as they are the reigning champions.

As of right now, Anthony Davis is averaging 22.1 PPG, 15.0 RPG, and 4.3 BPG for the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs. He will need to improve offensively overall if the Lakers are to get far in the playoffs, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Stephen Curry Opened Up On How Tough It Is To Play Against Anthony Davis

Even though Anthony Davis has not won a DPOY award, his defense is clearly among the best in the league. In fact, Stephen Curry opened up on how tough he made things for the Warriors after Game 1.

“For sure. It’s also because of how they’re playing us,” Curry said. “They know they want to take away our threes, even though we got 50 of them up. They want to try to put pressure on the perimeter, funnel everything into the paint, and allow him to disrupt a lot and close the space pretty quickly. It’s kind of deceiving. You feel like you have a good look to get it over the top, and he gets a fingertip on it.”

“You got to respect it. That’s how he makes an impact on that end of the floor, and you can’t be stubborn, thinking you can just keep going in there. You still got to be able to drive and put pressure on the rim, but you can do it in a creative way. So, yes, you got to feel it because it’s impactful.”

The Warriors will definitely have to figure out a way to get past Anthony Davis’ defense, and it is clear that he has shut down the rim and made them a jump-shooting team. It’ll be interesting to see what they do, but no matter their game plan, Anthony Davis is up for the challenge.
