The Los Angeles Lakers welcomed the Golden State Warriors to the Crypto.com Arena in the absence of their superstar LeBron James. Many thought the Warriors would easily register a victory over the Lakers.

But behind a strong performance from Anthony Davis, the Lakers ended up getting a crucial victory over the Warriors. Davis talked about the victory in the postgame interview, pointing out how the Lakers pulled off this amazing win over the defending champions of the NBA.

“[We had to] Battle. We know what’s at stake,” Davis said. “Felt like we gave one away against Minnesota. Obviously, all the hype was Steph coming back. We knew it was going to be a battle. Greatest shooter of all time, one of the top players in our league. So, guys made plays, guys stepped up. We buckled down defensively. They cut the lead – they [are] the defending champions. So, they know how to play when they’re down and we just kept battling. Perseverance to battle the storm, and we was able to come out with a victory.”

Anthony Davis played a crucial role in the Lakers’ win over the Warriors. The Unibrow recorded 39 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. While James was present on the sidelines to share the excitement with the team, Davis is currently the leader of the Los Angeles Lakers.

While it was a good win for the Lakers, the Warriors have now dropped to a 34-31 record. Sure, they are still the fifth seed in the conference, the Dub Nation must feel like they let an easy win get out of their hands.

The Los Angeles Lakers Have Played Extremely Well Since The NBA All-Star Break

Heading into the NBA All-Star break, the Los Angeles Lakers were riding high on morale after adding crucial pieces to the roster. However, injuries to D’Angelo Russell and LeBron James could have easily ruined that morale had the Lakers failed to win games.

Since the NBA All-Star break, the Lakers have a 4-2 record. This run has helped the team to improve their record for the season to 31-34.

The Purple and Gold are currently half a game behind the 10th seed. If the Lakers continue playing at the level that they have the potential to cause some trouble around the mid-table ranking in the Western Conference.
