Anthony Davis Tying His Shoe Led To Him Being Ejected For The Second Time In His Career

It’s been a rough day for Lakers fans. After watching their team dominate against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, there were high hopes that the Purple and Gold would be ready to do the same to the Bulls.

Instead, the Lakers got blindsided from the start, quickly ending up on the wrong end of a lopsided score.

Of course, the climax of the night happened late into the third quarter, when Anthony Davis got tossed from the game.

It all happened when he went down to tie his shoe. The refs let the game go on as he was bent down, and AD let them know how he felt about it, earning his second technical foul of the game.

It’s a rather bizarre turn of events, and quite a wild circumstance to get kicked out for.

Nevertheless, it’s exactly what happened and served as the final nail in the Lakers’ coffin for this game.

Now at 8-7 on the season, it’s understandable why AD might be a little frustrated.

”We’re not going to win a championship the way we’re playing,” said Davis. “We have to be better. … We’ve got to decide who we want to be. A championship team? That’s not us right now.

That’s not just this third quarter, it’s every third quarter we’ve played this season. We come out slow, lackadaisical offensively and defensively. We got to get it together. Why? I can’t tell you. But we got to do a better job.”

On paper, the Lakers should have all they need to stay near the top of the Western Conference, even in the absence of LeBron James. They have Davis, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, and many other veterans who are more than capable of proving their worth on the court.

Unfortunately, things just haven’t come together for the Lakeshow this season, and AD’s ejection was kind of representative of how Lakers fans are feeling right now.

Hopefully, things get better with more time.
