Anthony Edwards probably had a Thanksgiving feast today, as the Minnesota Timberwolves star is taking on a bigger load for the team with every passing season. After their last game, Edwards was asked by the media about his favorite Thanksgiving dishes, which prompted Rudy Gobert to bring up Escargot to a befuddled Edwards. His reaction was hilarious and the clip of the same is going viral.
Reporter: “Ant, what’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish?”
Anthony Edwards: “Besides egg and chicken? My favorite dish…”
Rudy Gobert: “He loves Escargot.”
Anthony Edwards: “What did he say? What the f*ck is that? I don’t even know what that is. I’ll probably say honey-baked ham, for sure.”

Edwards gave this interview after a dominant home win over the Philadelphia 76ers, further reinforcing the Timberwolves’ status as contenders this season. They’re No. 1 in the West and Edwards is a big reason for the same.
He put up 31 points, six rebounds, and six assists in their 99-112 win over the 76ers and is averaging 26.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists for the season. With Gobert playing at a DPOY level and Karl-Anthony Towns still operating as a nightly 25 and 10 threat, the Wolves may be in for their best season since 2003-04.
Anthony Edwards Is Earning Fans Like Shaquille O’Neal And Tyrese Haliburton
Edwards was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and is living up to his potential. His emergence over the last two seasons has made the Wolves a contender in one of the deepest Western Conferences the NBA has ever seen. He’s already been given support from Shaquille O’Neal as a top-three shooting guard in the NBA, something Shaq made known on his Instagram.
The only shooting guards with a case ahead of Edwards right now are Devin Booker and Donovan Mitchell based on their on-court accomplishments so far in their careers. Mitchell has never missed the playoffs and has been a 50-point scorer in the postseason, while Booker has previously led the Suns to the NBA Finals.
Even his peers are big fans of his style. His 2020 Draft classmate Tyrese Haliburton is being pegged as the next great point guard in the NBA, but even Haliburton knows Edwards is a special talent, calling him the future of the NBA after their time together as teammates in the FIBA World Cup.
“Ant is amazing. The stuff that he does on the floor is ridiculous. That first game against Germany, where he just took over the whole second half, was the greatest performance I’ve ever seen in person. Every day, the way he works, his approach to the game, and the competitor that he is, like the five-on-five runs that we had were always elite. He can do everything. I think Ant is probably the best player in his position. The future of the league, for sure.”
Haliburton referring to Edwards as the best shooting guard in the league already may be an overstatement, but Edwards is a prototypical two-way shooting guard with great size. He genuinely could follow in the footsteps of Dwyane Wade and players of that caliber, so everyone will be watching closely to see how Edwards develops.
