Brandon Miller has been raising eyebrows in his short time in the NBA, both on and off the court. He recently caused a bit of a stir by failing to recognize Khris Middleton when building a starting five and got roasted by NBA fans for it

Miller has now come out and claimed it was just a joke, and he, of course, knows who Middleton is.

“I know who Khris Middleton is,” Miller said. “I think people should have more fun in the NBA instead of just always (being) serious. I think I can bring the fun back to the game. I troll the media for fun so if you take it, laugh at it, don’t be that guy about it.”

Whether he was joking or really didn’t know who Middleton was, only he knows. We’ll take his word for it here as it was really shocking that he didn’t recognize the Milwaukee Bucks star. Sure, Middleton isn’t anywhere near the level of LeBron James or Stephen Curry, but anyone with even just a little bit of interest in the NBA would know who he is, especially after his exploits in the 2021 Finals where he averaged 24.0 PPG.

Brandon Miller Didn’t Know Who Jayson Tatum Was When They Met A Few Years Back

What lends some credence to the notion that Miller really didn’t recognize Middleton was a tweet from NBA analyst Jeff Goodman. In response to that viral Miller video, Goodman tweeted that the youngster told him a story about meeting Jayson Tatum a couple of years back but having no idea who he was.

When you consider that Tatum has been an All-Star in each of the last four seasons, it is an even bigger surprise that Miller didn’t know who he was when they met. It could very well be that he was just trolling the media there too as he seemingly loves to do it.
