Breaking: Boston Celtics Trade Kemba Walker For Al Horford

1 Min Read

The Boston Celtics started making moves this offseason, trading away one of the most criticized players on the roster this season. Kemba Walker is headed to Oklahoma City after two seasons at the TD Garden.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski breaks the news of Kemba leaving Boston along with draft picks. In exchange, the Thunder is sending Al Horford, Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick to Boston.

The Celtics are trading Kemba Walker, the No. 16 overall pick in the 2021 draft and a 2025 second-round draft pick to Oklahoma City for Al Horford, Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

After two years in Boston, Kemba couldn’t get things going with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. He couldn’t deliver as expected, and his chill attitude when the team lost earned him a lot of criticism from Celtics fans.

Horford had previously played with the C’s, helping them achieve success in the Eastern Conference before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2019. Horford’s return to Boston was something that Celtics’ fans wanted to see, and they’re finally getting their wish granted.
