Brian Windhorst: “Victor Oladipo Has Been Connected To Miami For Months Now… My Feel Is That Miami Has Their Eye On Bigger Fish.”

The mutual interest between Victor Oladipo and the Miami Heat is a rumor that has been floating around the NBA community for months now. But, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Heat may be too busy chasing bigger names to bother luring in the 2x All-Star.

“Oladipo has been connected to Miami for months now,” Windhorst said. “My feel is that Miami has their eye on bigger fish.” “I’m not sure that the interest from Miami is as high as the interest from Oladipo.”

Oladipo, 28, is a talented scorer and gifted defender, with career averages of 17.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game on 44.1% shooting.

Unfortunately, the budding star has been plagued by injuries that have affected his knee, shoulder, and quad. In the last two seasons combined, he has only played 55 games.

With only one year remaining on his contract, there has been talk of a new home for the 6-4 guard, and the Heat have been at the front of those rumors. But coming off their trip to the Finals, and with the futures of stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bradley Beal, and Russell Westbrook uncertain, there is no guarantee Oladipo will be calling South Beach his home anytime soon.
