Bronny James has had an incredible final season in high school, graduating from being a four-star recruit and a projected second-round pick to establishing himself as a five-star recruit and a possible top-10 pick.

After Bronny was picked to go 17th to the Atlanta Hawks in ESPN’s first 2024 Mock Draft, many fans came out to troll the 18-year-old. He has confidently responded to them on his Instagram story.

“Can’t wait to prove y’all wrong.”

Bronny is incredibly talented but doesn’t have the same high-end ceiling his father had. He isn’t very tall, standing at just 6’3″, and will need to be able to compete with the ball-handling and scoring ability of guards his size in the NBA. Thankfully, Bronny is projected as an elite defensive prospect and could forge a lengthy NBA career by excelling on that end of the ball.

Will Bronny James Make An Impact In The NBA?

Very few players have been guaranteed locks to make the NBA like Bronny James. Being the son of a legendary player is never enough to get you in the league, as we’ve seen with Michael Jordan’s children. Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O’Neal, and Dwyane Wade’s sons also haven’t been able to make it to an NBA floor despite having been on NBA rosters.

Bronny is different, as LeBron is still in the league. Whichever team drafts Bronny next season has an incredible opportunity of being able to sign LeBron, even if it is for just one season. There’s no guarantee that we’ll see winning ball, but we may get to see LeBron have a retirement tour with his son beside him. That’s an incredible marketing strategy and will make whichever team is lucky to draft Bronny a lot of money.

At the end of the day, we have seen real NBA utility and skills from Bronny. Whether it’s the Atlanta Hawks or some other team, Bronny will be determined to live up to his father’s gigantic footsteps in the league.
