The NBA is truly a global league now, with international superstars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic playing at an MVP level.

While there have been some controversial takes about them lately, most players give them the respect they deserve. And Carmelo Anthony was recently asked what one skill he would take from each of those players, giving some great answers.

The question posed to Carmelo Anthony was simple, it was, “Choose one skill from Jokic, Doncic, and Giannis.”

And Melo identified the three things that truly set the three European superstars apart, giving a great answer: “I would take Giannis, I would take his motor, his energy. Jokic’s IQ, and Luka’s pace.“

Giannis Antetokounmpo gives maximum effort on the court whenever he plays. Nikola Jokic’s IQ is what allows him to pass better than any big man ever and rack up triple-doubles like it’s nobody’s business. Luka Doncic’s pace is something many have commented on, it’s impossible to change his rhythm once he gets going.

Carmelo Anthony is one of the greatest scorers in NBA history, but if he had these skills to add to his already lethal skillset, he might have been the GOAT. For now, though, Anthony would likely settle for getting another run from an NBA team before he ends up retiring.

Nikola Jokic Wasn’t On Carmelo Anthony’s All-Time International NBA Team

Despite Carmelo Anthony coveting something that Nikola Jokic has, the two-time MVP didn’t make it to his all-time international starting 5 of NBA stars. Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo were both on it, but Melo chose to go with two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol over Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic might have become the victim of his success at this point, he will need to win an NBA championship before people start to give him his respect once again. The one thing that cannot be doubted though, is that international superstars are now on a different level in the NBA. With Jokic, Giannis, and Luka all in their primes or about to enter them, they will likely dominate for many of the years to come.
