Carmelo Anthony was recently announced as the third 2023 FIBA World Cup ambassador, as one of the best American players in international basketball.

Anthony’s opinion is very important, knowing his experience on these stages, and when asked to name the All-Time USA Team and All-Time International Team, he came up with two interesting lineups.

Team USA

LeBron James

Michael Jordan

Carmelo Anthony

Kevin Durant

Charles Barkley

The first one looks solid, but when it came to the International squad, Melo made some interesting picks, which didn’t sit well with fans.

Team International

Tony Parker

Manu Ginobili

Luka Doncic

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Paul Gasol

These are two interesting starting 5s, but as usual, they were met with a lot of criticism.

Fans React To Carmelo Anthony’s All-Time Teams

Many fans reacted to Melo’s starting lineups, but they mostly criticized the selections on the All-Time International Team.

Some went for Pau Gasol, saying that players like Nikola Jokic or Arvydas Sabonis should have gotten that spot, while some said that Drazen Petrovic was more deserving than Tony Parker.

Carmelo knows quality, as he was in one of the greatest Team USA’s of all time, winning gold medals with them and becoming a legend in FIBA basketball. He had the chance to share touches with Kobe Bryant and even challenged him to become a different leader for the squad.

Melo suffered big losses while defending his country in international tournaments, but he came up victorious more often than not, leaving a big mark on USA Basketball and becoming an idol for many players who dream of playing for their national team at some point.

These lineups weren’t the best, but Melo still picked two decent teams that would give trouble to a lot of rivals. Basketball fans will always have something to say when somebody else makes those teams, and this isn’t Melo’s first time seeing this reaction.
