The Boston Celtics faced a monumental assignment of trying to steal a win and force a Game 7 on the road in one of the loudest arenas in the entire NBA. Despite the hostile environment, however, the Celtics did have some support thanks to some very loyal and dedicated fans who made the trip to enemy turf.

On Sunday, one such fan went viral for an altercation just seconds before Derrick White’s game-winning buzzer-beater. As seen in a video, the man in Patriots gear warns Heat fans that there’s still time on the clock as they were celebrating what they thought was a sure-fire victory.

There’s no such thing as a safe lead in the NBA, not even with 3 seconds left on the clock. In the heat of the moment, it was easy for those fans to get excited, and even the broadcast crew thought the game was over before the refs called it the other way.

So, in the end, the Celtics fan got the last laugh and raised his hands in celebration once he realized what went down. No doubt, he was joined by much of New England that night as the Celtis pulled one game closer to pulling off the comeback.

Will The Celtics Win The Series?

With Boston heading back home and in complete control of the series, it’s easy to write off the Heat as dead in the water. Jimmy Butler looks exhausted, and the Celtics appear to have hit their stride at the right moment.

Even still, the Cs are expecting a fight, and Jimmy Butler himself is promising a victory.

“When we huddle up after a game, after a tough loss like this one, everybody is smiling because we know what we’re capable of it,” Butler said after Game 6. “I’m telling you. I’m not going to let anybody quit, I’m not going to let our guys quit. I don’t give a damn what happens, we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna win.”

The path to the Finals has not been easy for either team, and this is perhaps their biggest test of all. Like it or not, legacies will be made in this series and everyone can sense what’s on the line for both teams if they lose.
