Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal are really great when they clash at the NBA on TNT studio, trolling each other whenever they have the chance. Separated, they’re great, but together, they’re an unstoppable duo.
In recent hours, they teamed up to go against another big man, Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis. The Brow has been underwhelming this campaign, earning some criticizing from fans and media. Shaq and Chuck aren’t the exceptions and the retired big men let AD know what he must do to become a top player in the league and help his team succeed.
Barkley first said Davis must improve his level, putting the blame on him for the Lakers’ slow start to the season. Chuck said AD is responsible for the team now and he must be great to set an example.
“Listen, Anthony Davis, you’ve got to play better,” he said. “I said on the first night: if the Lakers are gonna be any good, it was all gonna be on you. Anthony Davis, you know I like you as a person, but you ain’t doing what you’re supposed to do. In my opinion, I blame Anthony Davis. You know I like you as a person, but you ain’t doing what you supposed to. You’re 27 years old. You are supposed to be in your prime. You’re supposed to be one of the five best players in the world up there with Giannis, Kevin Durant and those guys. And you ain’t holding up your end of the bargain.”

O’Neal then stated Davis must be a dominant player to help the Lakers turn the season around.
“Well Charles makes a great point, Mr. AD has to pick it up,” he said. “When you have a one-two punch, that one-two punch needs to be equal. We keep talking about LeBron and we all know LeBron is great, but Mr. AD has not played great. 19-percent from the three-point line is unacceptable for a player of his caliber. And the way he’s been playing is not acceptable.”

Chuck even stated Davis has the tools to become a top-5 player in the league, but he must do better to reach the heights of Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Before the 2019/20 NBA season, AD was considered a top 5 player in the league, but things have changed in the past two campaigns. Now Davis is getting a lot of criticism, but the player is trying to bounce back and lead the squad to the promised land in a stacked Western Conference.
Until that happens, he’ll keep getting these comments, and we all know Shaq and Chuck don’t mince words when they go off on somebody who’s underperforming.
