Kyrie Irving has been without a shoe deal since Nike cut ties with him last year, but he is certainly generating some interest in the market.

He recently hinted at getting a new deal before a trip to China in the offseason and it would appear a Chinese sportswear brand is interested in signing him, as per Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.

Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler, and D’Angelo Russell are some of the big names who have signed with Li-Ning. Considering Kyrie is planning to visit China, it would seem quite logical for him to sign with them and then head over as Li-Ning’s new signature athlete.

While he remains quite a controversial figure, there is no doubt that Kyrie is still extremely popular and he is shining on the court as well. While wins have been hard to come by, he is averaging 26.7 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 5.9 APG, and 1.2 SPG as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. Robinson also stated that Puma is interested in signing Kyrie but he added that there is a chance Irving goes independent and creates his own Kyrie shoe brand.

The Mavericks Are Planning To Re-Sign Kyrie Irving

The shoe deal isn’t the only big decision for Irving this offseason, of course, as he is also a free agent in the summer. The trade to the Mavericks hasn’t exactly worked out as they have fallen apart as a team, which raised some concerns regarding this future with the franchise. Despite the Mavs’ poor record after acquiring him though, they are planning to re-sign Kyrie and they really don’t have any other option.

The problem for the Mavericks hasn’t been Kyrie, but what they gave up to get him, and letting him leave after that would be disastrous. This season seems set to be a lost cause, but Kyrie isn’t giving up just yet, as they still have a glimmer of hope. If the Mavericks win their remaining three games and the Oklahoma City Thunder fail to win more than once, then the Mavs will sneak into the play-in tournament.
