Chris Bosh On How The Miami Heat Big 3 Changed The NBA: “Players Have To Make Decisions Just As The Organizations Have Been Making Decisions Since The Inception…”

In this new age of “superteams,” stars are teaming up with each other at a scale never-before-seen in the NBA.

From Golden State to the Cleveland Cavaliers and now, the Brooklyn Nets, these superpowered rosters have become the new normal for the league.

Tracing it all back to its source, you’d be hard-pressed not to link the Miami Heat, who combined Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh to form one of the most dominant trios in basketball history.

Speaking on how his club helped inspire this current generation of ball, Chris Bosh shared some interesting words on the “Take Line” podcast.

“I do think we have a lot to do with that. It was just a brand new thought, it was a brand new idea, it had never been done in that context before. Sure the big three in Boston happened, but man a lot of strings. They set the tone for what you had to do.

The talent that is required, and it’s always been like that. But this was obvious to win an NBA championship.”

Most players understand the implications of forming a superteam, but it is definitely within their rights to team up with each other, just like it is within the rights of the team to trade their players to make the roster better.

“We all want to participate at the highest levels but at the end of the day it is a business and players have to make decisions just as the organisations have been making decisions since the inception.”

While Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett helped introduce the world to superteams, the Miami Heat are the ones who popularized it.

Whether you love it or hate it, that tradition is here to stay for quite some time.
