Chris Paul is going to be remembered as one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. The man has won almost every accolade possible, but one particular piece of hardware is still missing from his collection. An NBA Championship ring. Thankfully, Paul’s Phoenix Suns are one of the best team’s in the league this season.

Paul and his Suns were given a serious challenge in the eighth-seeded New Orleans Pelicans who took two games from the reigning Western Conference Champions. The Suns had to avoid a Game 7 and an absolutely clinical performance from CP3 made that possible.

He has set the new post-season record for most made field goals without a miss. CP shot 14/14 on the night and scored 33 points. Paul also didn’t miss any free throws and had a 100/100/100, an incredibly rare statistical feat to achieve, especially from a guard.

We have seen big men come close to efficiency and volume like this before, but a guard setting this record is quite incredible. Paul is one of the shorter players in the league, but his ability to control a game seems to be getting better every day. The Suns needed him to step up without Devin Booker, and he did.

Devin Booker came back in Game 6 and is bound to improve from now to Monday, so the Suns should soon be back at full strength. However, their opponents for the next round are yet to be decided, as the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz series is yet to end. Game 6 is underway and the Mavericks hold a 3-2 series advantage.

Chris Paul can’t let another year of his prime go to waste. While he defies age every season, the question of when CP will eventually slow down haunts everyone. Hopefully, the ‘Point God’ can get his ring before he has to walk off into the sunset.
