Los Angeles Lakers head coach believes LeBron James deserved to be in the All-NBA First Team this season.

According to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears, “Lakers head coach Darvin Ham says it’s “amazing” that LeBron James made the all-NBA third team at 38 years old, and he should’ve been named to the first team for excelling at his age.”

The league’s all-time leading scorer made the All-NBA Third Team for his play in 2022-23, joining De’Aaron Fox, Damian Lillard, Domantas Sabonis, and Julius Randle.

Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made the All-NBA First Team this season. Donovan Mitchell, Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Jaylen Brown, and Nikola Jokic made the second team.

James has been instrumental for the Lakers this season, averaging 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game, and now looks to take LA to the WCF as they need one more win against the Golden State Warriors who trail them 3-2.

Darvin Ham Believed LeBron James Has Been Saving More Gas In The Tank For The Next Stage

The Lakers may have endured a blowout Game 5 defeat, but it didn’t change the fact that James was his usual self with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block in the loss. And all that, playing with a dodgy ankle.

Earlier, The Athletic’s Jovan Buha tweeted that “Ham believed James was saving some juice for the remainder of the playoffs. As Ham keeps implying, James still has more gas left in the tank that he’s been conserving for later in the playoffs,” the NBA insider tweeted.

James and LA will look to close it out in the next game at the Crypto.com Arena. The former knows that the Warriors just need an inch to blow up and force a Game 7, and even if it means exhausting his gas to put away the defending champions, the veteran will pretty much do it.
