Devin Booker has recently been able to see team success in the NBA following a rough start to his NBA career in Phoenix. The Suns guard has always been an elite scorer but he has elevated his game in the last 2 seasons and is now one of the league’s most prolific scorers.

So it stands to reason that opposition fans want to distract Booker. And when his Suns team played the Raptors on Tuesday night, he was quite riled up by the only fan in attendance, the Toronto Raptors mascot. Booker hit two clutch free throws that sealed the win for Phoenix but not before he got into a bit of a tiff with the mascot, who was subsequently asked to move away from the court.

Booker addressed the altercation with the mascot after the game, diffusing the situation even if he wasn’t best pleased at the time when it happened. Booker explained that he sorted it out with the man in the suit after the game, going on to say that they’re homies.

“We hashed it out. We homies now.”

“I was trying to get him out the way. It worked. I’m glad to be shooting it without him down there. We play shooting game all the time every day and these two (Crowder and CP3) do the same thing and I complain then. That’s just me.”

Booker had a rough night against Toronto, scoring just 16 points on a terrible 30% field goal performance. That, coupled with him asking the mascot to move led to Devin receiving criticism from NBA fans, who felt like it was a soft move on the part of the superstar.

Regardless, Booker’s request to have the mascot move out of the way worked, and he sunk both his free throws to put the game beyond the Raptors. After the Warriors lost to the Grizzlies on the same night, Phoenix is now the 1st seed in the Western Conference and can boast the best record in the league.
