“Finish the job. That’s what he’d tell me.”

Kobe was an inspiration and role model for countless people during his career, including young Devin Booker.

As for the quote itself, for those that don’t know, Kobe Bean said those very same words years ago after going up 2-0 in the 2009 Finals:

Kobe was famous for his “Mamba mentality.” He was a fierce competitor, driven winner, and played with a certain hunger and passion for success very rarely seen in league history.

While Booker is not yet on Kobe’s level, he plays with the same intensity and drive Bryant did all those years ago.

And, entering Game 2 of the Finals, it’s only fitting he take up the advice of his idol.

As easy as it is to get caught up in the moment, Booker and the Suns need to keep their foot on the gas until the job is finished, especially against this talented Milwaukee Bucks squad.

Let’s see if they’re able to close the deal, or if they fall short of a Championship.
