Dillon Brooks Says It Is Easy To Get Ready To Play The Warriors: “They Got Draymond Talking. They Got Klay Talking.”

It would have been understandable if the Memphis Grizzlies were a bit fatigued entering their game against the Golden State Warriors.

They had just beaten the San Antonio Spurs in overtime the night before but still came out all guns blazing against Golden State and won 133-119. Afterward, Dillon Brooks said it was easy to get ready for the Warriors thanks to all the chirping they tend to do.

“They got Draymond (Green) talking. They got Klay (Thompson) talking. So, it’s easy to get ready for this game,” Brooks said postgame. “I was ready. I only got four hours of sleep and I was ready to go.”

Brooks and Draymond Green have been going at it for a while now and he had mocked Green after beating Golden State last time as well. The rivalry between these sides is easily the best in the NBA at the moment and one can only hope that we get to see them face off in the playoffs.

All of the Grizzlies certainly were up for this one, not just Brooks. Jaren Jackson Jr. scored a game-high 31 points and all of their starters hit double figures. Brooks finished the night with 18 points and he played some excellent defense against Stephen Curry as well. He also had some choice words for Klay Thompson as the game was winding down.

Dillon Brooks Told Klay Thompson “You Suck”

Brooks and Thompson really got into it when these teams met in December last year. Klay had ruthlessly trolled Brooks after hitting a big shot that put the exclamation point to the Warriors’ win that night. With the tables having turned, Brooks decided to take a shot at Klay.

Thompson had just 14 points in the game on 6-17 shooting and Brooks made sure he knew how badly he played here. It was perhaps in response to this, that Klay counted the rings he has won, to remind Brooks of his accomplishments.

This win for the Grizzlies tied up the season series between them at 2-2, with the home team winning all four games. That could be big come playoffs if they do meet again, as the Grizzlies would have home court advantage.
